Embrace All Hub Wrap-up Conference 2024: Sustainability and Inclusion – Celebration of Achievements
On the 26th of July 2024 the Embrace All Hub Conference marked the end of the two year work of “Think Tank – Chance for Youth” project. It took place in Stratoni – Halkidiki and brought together young people from Greece and Europe to celebrate the work and impact of the team these two years and also make new and exciting discussions about the future.
Summary of Embrace All Hub Activities
We started the conference with a presentation of the team’s work on inclusion throughout these two years, the workshops and achievements, the social strategies and the tools that were used, what the team has learned and what are the products of this work. Members of EUphoria Youth Lab were there supporting the efforts of Embrace All Hub and speaking about the two year journey on youth inclusion.
Workshop and Discussion on Sustainability and Inclusion
Because the place of the conference has a big environmental character, it is close to the sea and with big biodiversity we wanted to connect our general work with a more pressing issue of today’s society which is environmental sustainability and we wanted to provide insight on how environmental crisis challenges inclusion.This workshop on sustainability and inclusion provided participants with an engaging exploration of key environmental and social issues. We began with a brief presentation introducing the concept of sustainability, followed by an interactive activity called “Steps to Sustainability,” where participants, assuming various roles, responded to guided questions by taking steps forward, illustrating diverse perspectives on sustainability challenges. This was followed by a group discussion on the outcomes. After a short energizer activity, “The Human Knot,” we introduced the concept of zero waste through a thought-provoking video, sparking a lively discussion. The main activity involved participants working in groups to research and analyze how different countries manage environmental disasters, culminating in presentations and a discussion on the links between climate change and migration. The workshop concluded with a creative reflection activity using drawings, participant feedback, and a summary of key insights, leaving everyone with a deeper understanding of sustainability and the importance of inclusive action.
Looking Ahead
This Embrace All Hub wrap-up conference celebrated the achievements of the past two years while igniting inspiration for the road ahead. It underscored the importance of equipping young people with the skills and confidence to become transformative leaders and innovators who can create meaningful change in their communities and beyond.
